Strategy & Overview

At Phoenix Copper, we prioritize our responsibility to add value to the communities we serve, global sustainability efforts, and the Company’s overall growth. Our commitment is to the responsible development and production of copper and other essential metals, which are crucial in the transition to cleaner energy and the infrastructure needed to support it.

We believe that the accelerating demand for clean energy will drive sustained growth in the need for copper—a demand that cannot be met by existing mines alone. While large, accessible copper deposits are increasingly rare, smaller projects offer significant potential when approached with careful management and sustainable practices. These projects, often overlooked by larger companies, can thrive under the right leadership and investment, providing strong financial returns while adhering to high environmental and social standards.

Our strategy at Phoenix Copper is to identify, develop, and responsibly operate these smaller opportunities, using part of the cash flow they generate to fund exploration and advance our long-term goals. Beyond financial success, we strive to make a positive impact through environmentally conscious mining of essential metals and meaningful community contributions.

Our flagship project, the proposed Empire Open-Pit Mine near Mackay, Idaho, is a polymetallic resource containing copper, gold, and silver, with reserves totaling approximately 66,000 tonnes of copper equivalent. With low initial capital expenditure and a projected mine life of eight years, we expect this project to quickly generate cashflow to fund further development and enhance the value of our other assets, all while adhering to strict environmental guidelines.

In addition to the Empire project, our other assets hold significant long-term potential. An exploration project that remains a priority for our Company is the copper sulphide vein system located directly below the proposed footprint for the Empire Open-Pit Reserve. The strike length is estimated to be over 5 kilometers long and has seen minimal yet encouraging modern-day exploration. Historic mining in the area produced copper at grades of up to 8%, and a recent drilling program conducted by Phoenix intercepted copper at grades above 8%.

Our goal is to utilize cashflow generated from the proposed Empire Open-Pit to responsibly explore and develop the sulphide deposit, unlocking its potential while implementing the highest environmental standards and adding value to the local community.

The Empire Copper Reserve in Idaho, USA, is in the detailed engineering design phase of development. Once in production, it’s expected to have an 8-year mine life producing over 8,000 metric tonnes of copper equivalent metal annually.

The Empire Copper Sulphide Vein System is located deep below the Empire Copper Reserve. It was historically operated as an underground mine that shipped up to 8% copper ore. During our 2021 drilling program, Phoenix intercepted 8.38% copper sulphide.

Navarre Creek is a grassroots gold exploration project located roughly 5km west of the Empire Copper Reserve. The 2023 drilling program identified a continuous zone of anomalous, low-grade gold mineralization within the claim block.

Phoenix has two cobalt exploration properties located within the Idaho Cobalt Belt. An earn-in agreement covering one of these properties was signed with a neighboring cobalt exploration and development company.
